We’ve all experienced that moment where inspiration hits us and we feel empowered after watching a forty-seven minute how-to video. We jump in the car and rush to the hardware store filled with the thrill of our future accomplishment. Surely, HGTV will be stopping by to applaud our craftsmanship and have us grace the cover of the October issue. FOCUS! Okay, back to the shopping list; cutters, grips, brushes, diamond drill bit, loppers, scraper bucket thing and the stick…$278.56 later and we are off to get this project started. We may stop real quick for a sammie on the way, and then we are really going to be ready. Seven hours later having watched that same forty-seven minute video about nineteen times, we get sidetracked with the hinge that needs tightening and that corner of the carpet that must tucked and glued. ENOUGH, it’s time to tackle the big project now that we have a few small accomplishments for the day. After a brief kerfuffle with said project that was going to skyrocket the dreams of becoming a master carpenter, electrician, plumbing and HVAC mechanic in one day are shot to hell. Now it’s time to pop a Barbie bandaid on our booboos, dry those little bitch tears and call a professional. Whatever you do, do not be an April Fool this year!
